Gary Helms - Broker/Founder

Gary started Helms Yacht Sales in 1984 after working as both a ship builder, and yacht salesmen. Over the years he gained extensive experience in offshore racing and cruising on just about any boat he get his hands on. However, early on he developed an affection for multihull sailing. In 1987 he began his relationship with Corsair Marine, and became on of their first dealers. Chances are if you see a Corsair on the West Coast of the United States, Gary probably sold it.

In 1996 Gary finished first in his division in the Single Handed Transpac Race from San Francisco to Hawaii aboard his Corsair 31 "Bad Boy." Now in his mid-sixties, he still loves racing his Seawind 1000 and Corsair Sprint 750, and is easily talked into going for a sail.

Adam Helms - New and Used Boat Sales/Webmaster

Adam was born the same year his father Gary started Helms Yacht Sales, so he has been around boating since as far back as he can remember. He spent the first five years of his life living on a house boat in Alameda, and spent many of his weekends crewing for his father on various races on the Bay. Adam recently moved back to the Bay Area from Southern California after attenting college, and is thankful to be back in one of the best sailing locations in the world.
